"San Franciscan flair"

And I can't help but think of this little incident from a few years back when after a meeting with members of the UT transportation board, I made one small comment, which got grossly misinterpreted, and then somehow made it into the Daily Texan (the University's daily newspaper) in this abomination:

"At the end of the forum, one of the attendees made a comment about adding a trolley on Speedway to make it easier for students from the Jester dorm to get to their classes.

While Harkins liked the idea of adding a little bit of San Franciscan flair to Austin, he said, laughing, that he cringed at the idea of students being able to jump on and off a moving vehicle on Speedway."

I was thinking more along the line of a tram (e.g. when you go to a theme park and what you ride around on to get to the back of the giant parking lot) rather than a trolley.

On an unrelated note I just arrived in San Francisco 2 days ago. I'm staying on the couch of my old AIESEC friends, Ryan. More photos and stories soon to come.

Oh, and they live right on a trolley line, and I can hear it passing by all the time. Looks like I finally got my flair.
